The Limner Group of Victoria.
Here we feature a few of the works by artists from the group; Myfanwy Pavelic, Walter Dexter, Herbert Siebner, Elza Mayhew, and Jan Grove.
This lively and eccentric collective of artists, who virtually came to define Canada's west coast modernism in the 70s began rather informally. The reason for their union was , in part, to counter the isolation that haunts a solitary studio life, while also exploring and encouraging the creativity amongst the group.
The work of the individual Limners is diverse, yet over the decades it has focused primarily on the human figure and the human condition. They never confined themselves to one style, subject matter, or medium.

This group exhibition highlights and reveals how each artist expresses themselves in their own unique and brilliant way!
