Harmony Guzheng Ensemble
Wed. June 17 (doors open at 11:30)
ProArts is non-profit. Donations at the door are appreciated.

With a history spanning over two millennia, Guzheng, a traditional Chinese plucked string instrument has evolved from its ancient seven-string form to the modern 21-string version. Rooted in the pentatonic scale, the Guzheng can produce a vast range of melodies through the player’s nuanced control of string tension, transcending time and cultural boundaries.

Founded and led by experienced Guzheng instructor Shirley Wong, the Harmony Guzheng Ensemble has been actively promoting Guzheng art in community cultural activities since its establishment in 2008.

The concert program features a diverse selection of traditional folk music and modern innovative works, showcasing the Guzheng’s remarkable artistic expressiveness.
