The Backlot

Oh, how easily I remember the emotions I felt when this picture was taken on September 2nd, 2021❣️

My staff, some of The Backlot regulars, contractors and myself worked our cute lil butts off to get the patio ready for that year’s Pride party … and the community came out and showed us how much they appreciated everything we did to make “a little hole in the wall, dive (diva) bar be as busy as possible during a relaxed Covid rules, Debutant Downer!”

I’ll be 💯 honest here, I’ve had some emotionally trying times where I briefly thought about “throwing in the towel”. However this little spot was where I’ve made so many amazing friendships, raised a ton of money for charities and flirted with all of you kittens ❣️

Every single person in our community, and I’m going to say this, this great
City of Calgary Community
for better or worse, has made our
All Encompassing Sexual Orientation Community, strive to speak up and make a difference, settling for nothing less than equality and compassion …

So how can I walk away from so many reasons that my staff and I have been honoured to be a part of … we will find a new space, a new home for the “house white”! 😜

From the bottom of my soul, I wish you all to have a moment where your heart shines with Pride for the unique Wonder Person that you are ❣️💫 Happy Pride Calgary 💫❣️
