Do not leave your dog in the car in even mildly hot weather!

We see these type of posts all of the time, yet it continues to happen.

I went to Costco a few weeks ago and they had a white board asking customers to not leave their dogs in the car. I asked the lady at the door about the sign, and sadly she said that this happens all of the time.

PLEASE!!!! This is not a nice way for your best friend to go.

A friendly reminder from the CAHS Veterinarian, Dr. Stevens:

If you are headed out with your dogs in this extreme cold weather, keep walks short - no more than 5 to 10 minutes. Your dogs should be wearing coats for added protection and if you are out longer than 5-10 minutes, they should also have booties to keep their paws from getting frostbite, but it is not recommended to keep them outdoors for long periods of time during these temperatures.
