Presented by the Philippine Consulate of Calgary, SineMa closes this year’s festival with the celebrated Filipino musical drama Ang Larawan — a free community screening.
Set in pre-World War II Intramuros, Old Manila, sisters Candida and Paula Marasigan navigate financial hardship while caring for their once-renowned painter father, Don Marasigan, whose artistic silence threatens the family’s future.
Featuring original music by Ryan Cayabyab, performances with the Philharmonic Orchestra, and a script by National Artist for Theater and Literature Rolando Tinio, Ang Larawan is a timeless tribute to Filipino art, culture, and resilience.
