What a way to kick off a marathon career!

A few weeks ago Run Calgary’s CEO Kirsten Fleming surprised Nageso Nyafaro Tuse, the top male finisher at the 2026 Servus Calgary Marathon (2:22:18), at his first day back to work at Gord’s Running Store to celebrate an unforgettable achievement.

Nageso chose the Servus Calgary Marathon as his very first marathon and absolutely delivered. Then, just this past weekend, he kept the momentum rolling by winning the Manitoba Marathon in a blistering 2:18:50

An incredible debut. Another huge win. A story we are so proud to celebrate.

Way to go, Nageso! Congratulations on an amazing start to your marathon journey!

Recognizing and acknowledging the Indigenous community is not something that should happen only once or twice a year, it is an ongoing commitment.

This year's medal was designed to be a reminder of that responsibility. Whether you see it in a race photo, hanging on a wall, displayed on a shelf, or you pass the tipi structure in Exmax Park - we hope it serves as a constant invitation to reflect, appreciate, and acknowledge the histories, cultures, contributions, and enduring presence of Indigenous Peoples across Canada.
