Happy 5th Birthday to my little guy. Every year we have done birthday photos and this year Lochlan wanted an “off road jeep” themed birthday photoshoot. So that’s what he got! It will be a sad day when he doesn’t want these photoshoots anymore but I love that he’s so into it right now.

Another annual photoshoot with this super fun and adorable family. I’ve been taking their fall photos since 2018 when their little girl was just a baby. Seeing her all grown up and full of personality tugs at the heart strings. Reminds me of how I somehow have a son who is turning 5 next week 🤯. Time flies, but the laughs with this group never change as each year passes.

Sharing some more from this beautiful wedding. We took these photos of the wedding party throughout Jills parents backyard. The steps made for a perfect group shot but my favorite is the one Brendan (my husband who second shot this wedding with me) took of the groomsmen against the trees. I love candid moments and this one was captured perfectly. There was no shortage of laughs with this group, obviously Jill & Beau are surrounded by some great friends.

These two waited 703 days. Even still with continued restrictions due to the pandemic and less than ideal weather, this wedding was happening. Their love was being celebrated. If I know anything about Jill & Beau it’s that they roll with the punches and make the best of every situation. This couldn’t be more evident on their wedding day. In this photo series Jill gets ready with her bridesmaids, family and friends. Everyone working in unison to support her. These are often my favorite photographs to take during a wedding day. Getting ready is full of anticipation and excitement before the events of the day kick off. Tomorrow we will take a peek into their first look and the love that is crazy evident with these two. ♥

Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mamas I know who continue to do the very best they can in what is no doubt a wild time in this world.

Saying goodbye. Its never easy. A quote comes to mind from American Wildlife Photographer and writer Roger Caras “Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.”
My dear friend Andrea had to say goodbye to her 12 year old pup Hampton last weekend and asked me if I could document some photos for her during their final day together. I’ve done celebration of life photos with animals before, including my with my own, and I’ve found capturing them like this helps with the process of moving forward. If I’ve learnt anything with grief and loss it’s that you never move on, you just move forward through it & with it. Hampton was one of the most loving pups with the greatest expressions. He lived a long happy life with Andrea & Matt and I’m so thankful I got to experience a slice of it. ❤️
