The most expensive habit I see?
Moving the finish line.

First it was:
"I just need to make six figures."

Then:
"I just need to hit $1M invested."

Then:
"I just need to know I'll never run out."

And on paper?
Everything looks incredible.

But internally?
Still scanning. Still bracing. Still managing.

Because the goal was never the number.
The goal was to feel safe.

And safety doesn't come from accumulation alone.
It comes from clarity. Structure. Boundaries. Trust.

Without those, more money just gives you…
more to worry about.

We talk a lot about "risk tolerance."

But we don't talk enough about risk capacity.

They're not the same.

Risk tolerance = how you feel.
Risk capacity = what your life can support.

High income doesn't automatically mean high capacity.

Stage of life.
Dependents.
Liquidity.
Upcoming transitions.

All of it matters.

Good planning respects both emotion and structure.

I don't think "maximizing returns" is the real goal.

Before you react — of course returns matter.

But what I see high-functioning professionals/business owners craving isn't higher performance.

It's predictability.
It's alignment.
It's knowing the plan makes sense for their life.

I've watched people chase optimization and feel anxious.

I've also watched people choose simplicity and feel steady.

The difference usually isn't the math.
It's the margin.
