Many of you might not know that for more than 20 years, our own Living A Creative Life host Adora Nwofor has been making Calgarians laugh while helping shape the city’s comedy scene. We wanted to see her world for this episode, and we followed Adora deep inside Calgary’s comedy community, exploring the people, places, and grassroots initiatives that have helped transform the city into a thriving hub for comedy and improvisation. 🎭
Comedy is a powerful cultural agent, and we dived into conversations with fellow performers and behind-the-scenes access to rehearsals, workshops, and live performances to understand just how this art form moves through a city.

Curated by Genevieve Farrell, The Responsibility to Wonder is the current Northeast Mini Galleries exhibition on view across 10 community locations in Calgary’s northeast.
The exhibition features 10 local artists exploring curiosity, connection and the relationships that shape our communities through sculpture, painting, illustration, beadwork and mosaic.
On view until September 2026, this exhibition also marks the debut of newly redesigned mini galleries, created by Vignettes to better showcase local art in community spaces.
Featured artists include La Güita (𝔏𝔞 𝔊ü𝔦𝔱𝔞 (𝔰𝔥𝔢/𝔥𝔢𝔯)), Saloni Sharma (Saloni Sharma) and Rima Sobh (River of).

The Rozsa Foundation Emerging Arts Manager Award celebrates emerging arts professionals whose creativity, leadership and dedication help Calgary's artists, collectives and organizations thrive.
This year, one of two recipients. Virginia Sparvier-Wells has made tremendous contributions to the Treaty 7 arts community through her work with The City of Calgary's Indigenous Public Art Program and Wild Mint Arts.
