Oh hey guys! There are a lot of new faces around here and since my content has shifted a bit lately, I thought I'd do a little re-intro!

I'm Cali, owner of Cali & Co Creative, mom to Ruby and wife to Tyran. ✌️

We recently packed up our lives in Canada and moved abroad to start a new adventure, living in Saudi Arabia, and so far we are as happy as clams about it!

This page used to be all personal, then shifted to mostly branding. Moving forward I plan to bring you guys along for the ride out here in the Middle East with sprinkles of travel, motherhood, design content, and bits of everything in between.

Still swooning over ‘s brand launch last week.

Obsessed with how this playful and rustic look came together with so many unique touches like the speckled texture you can see on their tissue down to the vintage inspired details to capture the heirloom focus in their business.

Might be spamming you guys with this brand for the foreseeable future.

This morning I was chatting in my stories about custom vs semi custom brand patterns and graphics. I got heaps of questions, so thought I would share some more info. ☺️

Brand patterns and graphics are additional design assets that compliment your branding. They help create an overall look and feel for you packaging, website, business cards, social graphics and so much more. Because let's face it, slapping your logo on everything alone isn't always the best solution.

Sometimes these graphics include hand drawn illustrations, sometimes it's a high end minimalistic pattern with logo variations, sometimes it uses textures like recycled paper or linen, and sometimes it features hand paintings. The options are unlimited and the results are always stunning.

For my full branding clients all of these graphics and patterns are 100% custom made for them. Because there is so much intention and purpose behind the work, they make the most impact for your brand.

BUT what if you don't have the budget for extensive branding packages with custom patterns and graphics?! That's where semi-custom comes in. Because branding should be accessible to everyone, I always want to have solutions for you, no matter where you're at on your journey.

Semi-custom patterns and graphics is when we purchase stock elements from another artist rather than creating them from scratch. My favourite go-to for these is creativemarket.com which is such an amazing hub featuring so many talented artists! Stock elements can include illustrations, paintings, textures, patterns and so much more. While they are not intentionally made for your specific brand, you can often find something that is a great fit that can elevate your branding until you're ready to invest in custom work down the road.

One thing to note is other businesses can purchase these too, so they may not be unique to your brand only - but with my help we can sometimes find little ways to make them feel more unique!
