Every kid wants to show up on the first day of school feeling as prepared and confident as they can.

You can help! There’s one week left until we assemble backpacks for CBE students. The EducationMatters Backpacks and Essentials campaign aims to raise enough funds for the nearly 2,000 backpacks and supplies our students will need this coming school year.

This morning, EducationMatters’ executive director Stephanie Washbrook delivered 425 paninis to , care of The Italian Centre’s “Paninis for Bambini” campaign earlier this year.

Jack James principal Darrin Moody is helping to serve them to students as part of the school’s Indigenous Peoples Day celebrations today.

We had the best time cheering on the runners at the Servus Calgary marathon on Saturday! Our entourage was stationed along the 5 and 10 km route at the Charity Block Party. Thanks to the marathon organizers for including us and to our donors for supporting us!

Giving Tuesday is a global day of generosity.
