Oh hello!! A proper introduction feels v overdue, so here we are! 👋, I’m Jillian, founder and principal designer of mh Interiors.

If you’re new here, welcome!! If you’ve been following along for a while, thank you for being part of our little corner of the internet.

A little about me & mh….
I grew up on a beautiful cattle ranch in Montana. Likely where my appreciation for natural living, hardworking craftsmanship, and homes that truly felt lived in, comes from. (And yes, my childhood included riding horses, milking cows, driving tractors, and no shortage of adventure.)

After earning my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Communications and Nonprofit Administration, I moved to Seattle to attend the Art Institute and pursue Interior Design—a path I had always known I wanted to follow.

After designing incredible homes throughout the Pacific Northwest, I eventually made my way to Calgary, where my experience expanded beyond design and into the building and construction industry. That chapter taught me how homes are actually built, sharpened my technical knowledge and helped shape the designer I am today.

Nearly 16 years later, & 7 years after launching mh Interiors, I still feel incredibly grateful to do what I love alongside incredible clients and talented teams.

mh was founded alongside my best friend, whose belief in me helped shape this company from the very beginning. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit remains woven into everything we create. 🪽🦋 (Fun fact—mh stands for McCormick and Hughes, both of our last names.🤍)

At my core, I’m inherently joyful—love laughter & authenticity, and am always chasing sunshine, endorphins, and inspiration through travel. I’ll always believe homes are meant to be lived in—not just looked at—& I’ll rarely say no to a glass of bubbles or a great Willamette Valley Pinot Noir. 🥂

Somewhere along the way, Instagram became our journal, our portfolio & our favorite place to connect, share our work & tell the stories behind the homes we design.
