Coping Corner

There are times that we do not realize how much we need a 'little' break from our relationships, work, stress, anxiety and school unless we come to reach our breaking point. It is important to take a break from toxic relationships, jobs, school, routines and the demands of life to keep stress levels in check.
Sometimes, stress can sneak up on us, and we may be unable to recognize when we're at risk for burnout. We all respond to stress in unique ways; our signs may be different as well. However, there are general warning signs that apply in most cases. If you are experiencing one or more of the following, it is a good idea to start planning some downtime. Here are the few signs that you need to take a break:
⚠️ Lack of energy
⚠️ Lack of motivation
⚠️ Sleep Disturbances
⚠️ Feeling Fuzzy-headed (aka brain fog)
⚠️ More Frequent Frustration
⚠️ Mild Health or physical Issues (e.g., headaches or stomachaches)
⚠️ Emotional Exhaustion (feeling drained and tired)
⚠️ Reduced performance ( e.g., lack of creativity)
Let's treat ourselves a little better from now on. Treat yourself, take yourself out on a date, go travel or go on a vacation, go shopping for yourself, spend time and communicate with yourself. There are also some self-care strategies, like eating a healthy diet, exercises, meditation, and engaging in healthy sleeping habits. Be your most immense support and best friend.
With the holidays coming up, I hope you use this time to take a break. Remember that when you take a break, you're not avoiding responsibility. You are not slacking off. You're taking good care of yourself, so you'll have the energy to be your best and go on with your life. Take it slow, and you'll get there; just give yourself some time and take a break. You deserve it. ♡
