There are a lot of assumptions and questions surrounding homelessness like “Why can’t they just get a job?”

We are here to break down the complex answer to that question. Including explaining nine of the invisible barriers to acquiring employment and the consistent cycle those who are experiencing homelessness often find themselves in.

For this month's CUPian Spotlight, meet Banji, CUPS' Organizational Policy & Compliance Coordinator!

"Hi, I'm Banji Onipede, and I'm the Organizational Policy & Compliance Coordinator at CUPS.

My role focuses on supporting policy governance, compliance, privacy, and accreditation initiatives across the organization. I work with leaders and subject matter experts to develop and improve policies, coordinate accreditation activities, strengthen governance processes, and help ensure our practices are aligned with organizational standards and legislative requirements.

What I enjoy most is bringing structure and clarity to complex processes. I like understanding how different pieces of the organization fit together and finding practical ways to improve systems so they're easier for staff to navigate. It's rewarding to know that the work happening behind the scenes ultimately helps support frontline teams in delivering quality services to clients.

Outside of work, one of my biggest interests is music. I enjoy exploring different genres and appreciating how music brings together creativity, structure, and storytelling. It's a great way for me to unwind, recharge, and sometimes discover a new favourite artist or sound."
