Help us in welcoming Azra! She will be helping us with providing continuity for psychological services while Esther is away. Existing clients of Esther's are welcome to continue with Azra, we're confident she's a great fit!
Azra is a Registered Psychologist with 10 years of experience supporting children, teens, and families. She specializes in therapeutic play, expressive arts, and strength-based therapy using CBT principles—all with an attachment-focused approach.
She’s passionate about working closely with parents, schools, and communities to promote positive mental health. Through therapy, Azra helps kids feel seen, heard, and supported.
Stay tuned, we're exploring whether it's possible for Pinecone to offer psychoeducational assessments in the near future and Azra is a key part of this plan!
💬 "My favorite part of working with kids? Building relationships—playing, sharing stories, and exploring personalities together!"

Abdominal pain is a common concern for children referred to Pinecone Pediatrics. It can have a significant impact on quality of life and can lead to lots of frustration for families.
We've created a resource for families to understand and start finding strategies to improve function and resilience for children with chronic abdominal pain.

Self harm (non suicidal self injury) is a common presenting concern for children struggling with mental health. It can be difficult for families to navigate the why and the how to get help and the where to start. Pinecone is trying to make those difficult conversations a little less challenging by providing some conversation starters, both for caregivers and for youth.
We also have our more in-depth discussion on self harm on the website, if you need more information!

This was a lot of work! Considering how useful I’ve found our other handouts I’m sure it’ll get some mileage. Still trying to figure out the most effective strategy for information dissemination… parent courses? Asynchronous online education? Social media?… Off to work in a few minutes. More on this later! 🌲 ℹ️ 📝
