Śauca ✨ Purify the body and mind.
Santoṣa ✨ Be content with what is.
Tapas ✨ Disciplined action creates positive change.
Svādhyāya ✨ Never stop learning about yourself.
īśvara-praṇidhāna ✨ Have faith and surrender to a higher power.
The Niyamas are the 2nd limb in Patañjali’s Yoga Sūtras, an ancient text on yoga philosophy composed around 200 CE. 📖
As yogis, we continue to study these texts today to understand the history of yoga and pay respect to its origins by learning them. 📚
We are grateful for these teachings, especially since the Niyamas are a great self-care guide to live by. 🤍
