Risewell Psychology

As part of Volunteer Week, we want to take a moment to recognize and appreciate the incredible individuals who contribute to the experience we create at Risewell.
Khloyi is an undergraduate psychology student with a strong interest in developmental and counselling psychology. As a volunteer and client greeter, she plays an important role in helping clients feel welcomed, comfortable, and supported from the moment they arrive.
We often talk about the importance of the therapeutic relationship, but what happens before that first session matters too. The environment, the first interaction, the sense of being received, all of these small moments shape how safe and at ease someone feels walking into a new space.
Khloyi brings a warmth and attentiveness that helps make those first moments a little easier.
We’re so grateful to have her as part of our community and for the care she brings into this role.
Neurodiversity Celebration Week is an important reminder that many clinicians genuinely want to provide affirming, effective care for neurodivergent clients.
But most of us were never formally trained how.
Autistic individuals experience significantly higher rates of mental health challenges, yet many clinicians report feeling underprepared to adapt traditional therapy models.
Neuroaffirming care requires more than awareness — it requires practical tools, frameworks, and clinical language that support neurodivergent clients in ways that honour identity, strengths, and autonomy.
INVEST: Essentials in Neuroaffirming Care is a full-day clinical training designed to help mental health professionals translate neuroaffirming principles into practical, applicable strategies.
Participants will learn how to conceptualize through the INVEST framework and apply tools for emotional regulation, executive functioning, communication, and sensory needs.
Early bird tickets are available until March 31.
Spots are limited.

Feeling understood shouldn’t be rare.
Neurodivergent people deserve spaces where they feel safe to be themselves—without needing to mask, explain, or adapt who they are.
When one space becomes more understanding, it doesn’t stop there.
It shapes relationships, communities, and the systems around us.
This is how safety grows.
This is how inclusion becomes real.
