Our mascot is a big fan of the beautiful game. FIFA on the other hand…

But you know what gets our mascot just as fired up as a last-minute goal? Fair wages, real rights, and making sure every B.C. worker has a team in their corner.

Your team is waiting: and we're it.

Sign the petition to fund B.C.'s public libraries! 06/18/2026

Provincial funding for B.C.'s public libraries has been frozen since 2010 – while our population has shot up 27 per cent and demand for library services has never been higher.

Something has to give. Workers are stretched thin, some libraries are cutting back hours, and the services communities count on are at risk.

That's why our union is launching a new petition calling on the provincial government to provide sustainable funding for our public libraries. Will you add your name?

Sign the petition to fund B.C.'s public libraries! Library funding has been frozen since 2010. Let's change that.

Every worker deserves to come home safe. Today we pause to remember the 19 workers who lost their lives in the 1958 Second Narrows Bridge collapse, and the hundreds whose lives were forever changed. Their legacy lives on in our ongoing fight for the health, safety, and dignity of all B.C. workers.

If you are in the Vancouver area this afternoon, attend the memorial event at New Brighton Park, 1 pm.

Most of us have encountered Thomson Reuters without realizing it, through its global news wire or the legal and accounting tools used by professionals across the country. If you have a pension or investments, it may already be in your portfolio.

For years, this Toronto-based giant has been leasing surveillance software to US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), used to track, detain, and deport migrants and asylum seekers.

ICE now faces multiple lawsuits over unlawful detentions, due process violations, and deaths. And under Canadian law, companies can be held liable for human rights abuses connected to their operations anywhere in the world.
BCGEU has been engaging with Thomson Reuters on this for six years. Next week, our shareholder resolution goes to a vote at the company's AGM.
