At the 2025 FASS Fall Reception, political science professors, Dr. Eline de Rooij as well as Dr. Clare McGovern were felicitated with the Cormack Teaching Award, and Dr. Mark Pickup received the 2025 Research Excellence Award in Social Sciences.🏆

The Cormack Teaching Award recognizes the passion that faculty members bring to the classroom, their quality of pedagogy, and the value they bring to their students’ education and the FASS teaching community. On the other hand, the Research Excellence Award is given to recognize FASS researchers who have produced sustained and impactful scholarly output and achieved national and international recognition throughout their careers.

Every year, members of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) gather together at the FASS Fall Reception to celebrate the winners of the Dean's Medal Awards and the Employee Achievement Awards.

These awards recognize the dedication, hard work, and excellence exhibited by FASS faculty and staff.
