I often come across women who are convinced that their sudden weight gain, sleepless nights, and constant brain fog are just the inevitable misery of their 40s. The internet algorithm has only just recently started to tell us that this is NOT just what midlife looks like. (Our poor mothers and grandmothers!)

Your body is a deeply connected ecosystem. When we actually look at the functional data, the story usually changes.

Often, what looks like early menopause is actually:
→ A thyroid struggling to convert hormones because it lacks the right nutrients.
→ A sluggish gut that is recirculating old estrogen instead of clearing it.
→ Adrenals that are absolutely exhausted from years of running on stress, people-pleasing, and trapped emotional trauma.

You do not have to accept feeling depleted as your new normal. Finding true harmony means stepping out of the chaos, looking at your biological puzzle pieces, and clearing the energetic blocks keeping you stuck.

We need to have a deeply honest conversation about what actually fuels your body versus what just gets you through the afternoon. In Episode 111 of Wellness Blueprints, I dust off my Master Nutritionist hat to answer a question that’s been floating around the wellness space: Is soda actually nutritious?

Let’s look at your body like a construction site.
Calories are the workers. They show up with the energy to get the job done. But nutrients—the fiber, the healthy fats, the vitamins—are the building materials. The lumber, the bricks, the plumbing.
When you drink a soda, a whole crew of workers shows up... but there are zero building materials. So what do they do? They get bored, cause chaos, spike your insulin, and eventually leave you exhausted, bloated, and honestly? A little hangry. 📉

If you feel like you are constantly fighting your own cravings, self-sabotaging your health goals, or just feeling stuck in a cycle of exhaustion, it might not just be a food issue. Trapped emotions often dictate what we crave to soothe our nervous systems.

One soda will not cause insulin resistance, but what you repeatedly ask your body to do is what truly matters. Liquid sugar absorbs very quickly because it lacks fiber, protein, or healthy fats to slow the absorption down. This causes a rapid glucose spike and subsequent crash that leaves you hangry.
Just because a drink contains trace minerals does not mean it is nourishing your body. Your taste buds and your cells are not always asking for the same thing.
