“Peace is not found in the absence of suffering.”
This morning at 6:45 AM, a huge group of committed humans gathered for our hill session. The heat and humidity were no joke, and the original plan quickly became less important than the people carrying it out.
We adapted the session. We adjusted expectations. We met the athletes where they were.
And that’s what made this morning so special.
I’m incredibly proud of everyone who showed up, worked hard, encouraged one another, and chose progress over perfection. There is something powerful about watching young people learn that toughness isn’t about ignoring adversity—it’s about responding to it with wisdom, resilience, and character.
The greatest gift of ASP has never been the workouts. It’s the community that continues to show up for one another through every challenge, every season, and every difficult climb.
Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.
That’s where growth happens.
That’s where character is built.
And often, that’s where peace is found.

Tonight was a special night.❤️❤️
I had the privilege of attending the PVEC graduation ceremony and watching so many incredible young people walk across that stage. As I sat there, I couldn’t help but reflect on just how grateful I am to have played even a small role in the journeys of so many of these students through ASP.
To every ASP athlete—past and present—who graduated today: congratulations!!!!
What you achieved tonight is about so much more than receiving a diploma. It represents years of early mornings, late nights, challenges overcome, lessons learned, setbacks navigated, and growth that often happened long before anyone else could see it.
I have watched many of you grow from young athletes into remarkable young adults. Your character, resilience, work ethic, and commitment to becoming better people have always mattered more to me than any result, score, or performance metric.
Tonight, I felt an overwhelming sense of pride sitting in that crowd.
Thank you for allowing me to be part of your story. Thank you for trusting ASP with a piece of your journey. And thank you for showing our community what is possible when young people commit themselves to growth!
No matter where life takes you next, know that I am ALWAYS cheering for you.
Congratulations, graduates. I am SO SO SO proud of you!!❤️

There’s a saying that a building is just four walls and a roof.
What makes it special are the people inside.
Over the years, ASP has become so much more than a gym. It’s become a community. A place where athletes have chased goals, built confidence, overcome setbacks, celebrated victories, and grown into incredible young men and women.
As we continue to transform our space, I want to invite our entire ASP family to help us leave a permanent mark on it.
Join us for ASP Community Day as we paint, clean, build, and prepare the next chapter of ASP together. Every athlete, parent, coach, and supporter is welcome.
And before the paint dries, you’ll have the opportunity to add your handprint to our new ASP Hand Wall — a permanent reminder of the people who helped build this place and the community that continues to make it special.
We’ll have pizza, snacks, hydration, music, and plenty of good conversation.
This isn’t about painting walls.
It’s about celebrating the people who have made ASP what it is today.
To every athlete who has trusted the process.
To every parent who has trusted us with their child.
To every coach, volunteer, and supporter who has helped along the way.
Thank you.
I can’t wait to spend the day building something meaningful together.

Work Works.
This weekend, Makayla jumped 42.5 cm at the FTF Canada Summer Combine in Halifax, finishing 2nd overall in the Vertical Jump.
I’m proud of the result.
But I’m even more proud of the person behind it.
Many of you will remember when I shared that Makayla ran over 2 miles to ASP before a 7:00 AM session, completed her training, and then ran home to get ready for school.
What I didn’t share is that it wasn’t a one-time thing.
She has continued doing it.
Continued showing up early.
Continued choosing hard work.
Continued investing in herself when nobody is watching.
As a coach, results like this are special because they remind us that effort always leaves clues. Long before the combine, the signs were there. The consistency was there. The discipline was there.
This performance wasn’t created in Halifax this weekend.
It was built one early morning at a time.
Makayla, I couldn’t be happier for you. Thank you for the example you set for the younger athletes in our community and for the standard you bring into ASP every day.
Your hard work is paying off, and we’re all incredibly proud of you. 💙
