💗 This is us— below is our story in pictures. With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, it felt like the perfect time to finally share it.

Our friendship actually started a couple years before the romance. Jacob is Nadine’s younger brother’s best friend… but our unlikely love story officially kicked off at Boston Pizza on August 10, 2013. A young, naive 22-year-old Jacob was celebrating at his “going away party” before starting his Navy career when he quite literally collided with a 38-year-old, sassy Nadine 😲 Jacob was leaving for a year, so naturally we thought, well… that’s the end of that. Or so we assumed…

It definitely wasn’t love at first sight—honestly, it was kind of the opposite. Jacob left almost immediately for the Navy, and we went on to live our separate lives. But somewhere along the distance and time zones, we became best friends. We spoke almost every day until he returned home a year later.

Fast forward a couple of years of truly getting to know each other. Asking the big questions. Does the age gap matter? Is this real? Can this work? Do we care what anyone thinks? Fate answered for us one night on vacation in Cuba—there was a moment where we looked at each other and just knew. No doubt. No second guessing. It was meant to be.

We’d love to say “and the rest is history”… but there was still more to figure out. Could our life goals align? (Owning a bowling alley definitely wasn’t on the bingo card yet 🎳.) Would Jacob’s deployments work for us? Would Nadine’s demanding career in the car business be too much? Would not having children be a deal breaker? So many questions—each one answered slowly, honestly, and intentionally… leading us right here, to the life you see in these photos 🥰
