Micronutrient deficiencies are often availability issues — not absence.
Even when micronutrients are present in the media, unfavorable root-zone conditions can limit uptake.
Availability is influenced by:
• pH
• Moisture
• Temperature
• Media chemistry
As a result, deficiency symptoms may occur even when fertilizer programs are well designed.

Deficiency and toxicity symptoms can look similar. Toxicity symptoms are most often associated with high soluble salts or elevated EC rather than individual nutrient overapplication. Common toxicity symptoms include:
• Leaf edge burn
• Necrosis
• Reduced root health
Because toxicity symptoms can closely resemble deficiency symptoms, testing is essential to avoid misdiagnosis.
