I had the pleasure of speaking to the students at Loyalist College’s HJ McFarland LTC alongside my client, Jim (and yes, I have his full permission to share this!). It was an incredible opportunity to discuss the importance of PSWs considering careers in business and offering services in the healthcare sector.

As we know, the healthcare industry is evolving, and there’s a growing demand for innovative services that can support and enhance patient care. Encouraging students to think beyond traditional roles and explore business opportunities can not only help them create sustainable careers but also contribute to improving healthcare delivery.

The future of healthcare depends on passionate, creative individuals who are ready to step into leadership roles and shape the next generation of services. Let’s inspire them to think big!

At Quinte Adult Day, we believe that getting out and about to explore new towns and meet new people is so important for those with dementia and intellectual disabilities. These outings provide a refreshing change of scenery, encourage social interaction, and stimulate cognitive and emotional well-being. It’s not just about the fun and memories – it’s about improving overall health and quality of life by keeping minds engaged and spirits lifted. We look forward to more wonderful visits and making new friends in different communities!

We’re getting into the holiday spirit at the Quinte Adult Day Program by making some adorable Christmas decorations for the tree! 🎄✨ Do you think Santa will like them? 😉 Afterward, we enjoyed moving with a fun exercise class led by our awesome student Jocelyn! 💪🎉

Today at the Quinte Adult Day Program, our amazing student Basil led a fun and engaging activity that had everyone smiling! The game was simple: catch the ball, create a unique motion, and the rest of the group had to guess what it was. It was a wonderful way to spark creativity and encourage playful interaction.

Guessing games and physical activities like this are so beneficial for persons with dementia. They help improve cognitive function, boost memory, and promote social interaction, all while encouraging physical movement. Plus, the laughter and positive energy are great for overall well-being!

On the eleventh hour, the eleventh day, and the eleventh month , we pause to honour and remember the brave men and women who fought for our country and our freedom. Their sacrifices have shaped the world we live in today. Thank you to those who gave everything to protect the values we hold dear. May we never forget their courage and dedication.
