The Dr. Kevin Hall Excellence in Leadership and Administration Award is presented in honour of the late Dr. Kevin Hall, to celebrate his lifelong commitment and contributions to the pharmacy profession. This award celebrates outstanding achievement, leadership, and excellence in hospital pharmacy administrative practice and is awarded to a member in good standing from one of the four Western Branches of CSHP: British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, or Manitoba. This award is sponsored by Fresenius Kabi.
The 2026 recipient of this award is Dr. Tania Mysak. Tania graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BSP) in 1996 from the University of Saskatchewan. After a brief stint practicing community pharmacy, Tania returned to school, completing her Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) at the UBC in 2000. She then practiced as a Pharmacotherapeutic Specialist at Vancouver General Hospital, developing a novel specialization in neurosciences. In 2005, Tania relocated to Edmonton where she first worked as a Clinical Practice Leader, then up the management ranks to ultimately serve as Executive Director of Provincial Operations in Alberta Health Services. These roles allowed her the opportunity to teach, mentor, and precept students and pharmacists, shape clinical and technical practice, and impact a broad portfolio including procurement, medication safety, stewardship, informatics, analytics, and research. In 2025, Tania shifted to Acute Care Alberta, where she will continue to seek out ways to meaningfully impact pharmacy practice and patient care.
