For a day all about YOU Feb **10 6-9pm
Are you constantly spinning your tires but going no
where, exhausted and at your whits end? Do others
needs come first and yours get moved to the back
burner? Do you laugh/cry at the concept of finding
the time for something frivolous like self care?
By definition self care is the practice of taking an
active role in protecting ones own well-being and
happiness in particular during periods of stress. Just
like on an airplane you are instructed to first put on
your own oxygen mask before assisting others. Self
care is a way to express love and kindness towards
ourselves. It can take on different meanings and
forms for each individual.
The Self-care Sunday workshop will help you to
identify what self care means to you and how you can
incorporate it into your daily life and practice it not
only during stressful times.
Learn how yoga and mindfulness can be effective
and transformational self care tools. Create your own
self care rituals that become habits that refill your
cup. Self care is not only beneficial to you but for
those around you. Our time together will begin with a
heart opening flow, a restorative yin to follow,
finished off with a relaxing yoga Nidra as well as time
to journal in between.

Life is constantly a balancing act. Whether you’re balanced over the working edge, fighting against the various forces acting on your body to stay upright, sometimes the snow conditions aren’t ideal, the visibility is bad and you wipe out.
This same process happens on my yoga mat, while I might post fluid transitions from one pose to another I also fall out of poses too.
To take this one step further let’s apply it to life in general. just out here trying to get the right amount of sunlight, drink enough water, see my friends and be social, give myself enough down/alone time, eat enough greens but treat myself to some chocolate etc. It takes constant evaluation and connection to myself to ask what do I need today. But whenever I fall down, be it on the slopes, the mat or in life I can look at what pulled me out and try to even out the scales again. How do you maintain balance in this crazy world?!

Snowboarding has been my “yoga” these past winter months. When I’m about to drop into a double black run, slashing fresh pow, or hitting park features there not much else but that moment happening right there. It’s the purest moment of presence I can obtain. Not only and I getting physical activity I’m also getting out into nature during the colder darker months. What off the mat activities do you find meditative? ❄️
