So, here's another example of how somebody decided to cheap-out on the materials they used to construct this deck. Standard construction screws are not to be used with pressure treated lumber. Why? Simple - because the chemicals in the lumber (ACQ-Alkaline Copper Quaternary) will corrode construction screws rendering them useless. Even trying to unscrew them, they break inside of the lumber. Hence; why deck screws are to be used. Or, if you prefer using nails, be sure to use hot dipped galvanized nails.
Cutting corners to save a couple of bucks is so stupid (albeit common), it will cost you, and your reputation as a builder down the road.
