The Association is greatly concerned for the well-being of its Members, their families and the public. We need to take action to help stop this virus! We encourage everyone to please practice the following protocols:

• Post sign regarding COVID-19 and your salon’s active process
• Avoid close contact (hugs and hand shaking)
• Follow strict sanitation and disinfection processes throughout the day
• Disinfect all table/counters, phones, and electronics (ie: computers, debit machines, etc.) throughout the day
• Continually clean/disinfect the salon floors, beds, chairs, stations, doorknobs (when there is multiple use throughout the day)
• Disinfect nail lights after every client
• Use disposable gloves when handling money with clients and discard after each use
• Have clear access for everyone to soap and running water
• Recommend clients wash their hands immediately when entering, during and when leaving the salon
• Have hand sanitizer throughout the salon (pump if available)
• Use disposable drinking mugs and glasses
• Recommend those traveling outside of NS or feeling unwell to reschedule appointments, to ensure the safety of all staff and visiting clients
• Stay home if ill, especially if you have a fever and or a new cough
• Prepare for possible immediate closure

The spread of the COVID19 virus will no doubt have an impact on salons and spas in Nova Scotia.
