EKF Literacy Tutors: Tristan & Hannah

Tristan is joining us for a fourth year leading the Elizabeth Kelly Foundation Literacy Tutoring for children in Grades 1 to 3 at MMPL. With a strong background in teaching, coaching, and mentoring, she brings incredible experience, teamwork, and energy to every session. She loves to play sports, particularly soccer and basketball. Tristan recently graduated from Teacher’s College (congrats!).

Hannah is spending her third summer at MMPL and it’s her second year as a Literacy Tutor. She is patient, kind and encouraging, as she builds young readers’ confidence! Hannah is pursing a degree in Sociology at Carleton University. She has sampled all of the ice cream flavours. Cookie Dough is her favourite!

Almonte Summer Programs: Georja & Alicia

Georja joins us as the Summer Program Leader in Almonte this summer – a perfect fit as she actively works toward her goal of becoming an elementary school teacher. Georja has the ability to build confidence, work through challenges and make kids feel proud! She has worked tirelessly planning and creating a fun-filled summer in Almonte. When not surrounded by kids, you’ll find Georja in the kitchen decorating cakes!

Alicia is our Summer Program Assistant. As a figuring skating and soccer coach, she is skilled at helping kids stay engaged and focused while maintaining a fun atmosphere. Alicia is patient and supportive with children as they learn and try new things. When not coaching, playing, or working at the library, Alicia loves to spend time with her dog, Roxsy!

THANK YOU!!! The Mississippi Mills Film Society has generously donated $2200 (nearly double from last year) toward new furniture and other improvements to our Children’s Area.
