River crossings don’t have to be scary, you’re just giving the water too much to grab onto!💧

If you walk straight across, the water in the river treats you like a sail and could knock you down. The safest thing to do is to face the current at a 45-degree angle toward the bank you’re aiming for. This cuts the force of the water and keeps your center of gravity locked keeping you stable as you cross! 🙌

Extra tips! Find a sturdy pole to act as a third point of contact and remember to test first!! If you grab a piece of rotting deadfall and it snaps mid river crossing, you’re going for a swim!🤔🥵Also! If you’re wearing a backpack with clips… UNCLIP IT!🔥
