We are retiring Alice and beginning the search for her retirement. Alice is a beautiful 6 year old, spayed, tri color female that is usually right around 45 lbs. Alice is from our own kennel and 6th generation of our current foundation stock. Alice is a bit skittish in new situations but is very routine and tries to anticipate what is expected of her next. She can be a very spunky and active girl but she also has a very sweet and docile side. She loves to give my toddler kisses! Alice is a cuddle bug and though can be a little shy with meeting new people she usually ends up in their laps. She was recently spayed and loved, and was loved by the vet staff.
She has gotten more dominant as she has gotten older and would do best as an only dog or with males. It was usually more when she is in heat and/or pregnant so she may even out now that she is spayed. She should do fine paired with a neutered male. She picks up on new things quickly and loves the water, though has only played in kiddie pools! She is very routine and can show some anxiety when things are changed up, but can adapt. We have had very good success with longevity and overall health in her lines (15-17 years in ancestors). She does show some prey drive towards cats but that was also when they were near her puppies, so not sure how she would do with full access. She is crate trained, good for grooming, rides fine in the car, but is not a huge fan of collars/leashes. She has always been this way since a pup and does better with harness. She just tries to avoid a slip leash and gets more anxious walking with a typical leash and collar. She would require a fence or be leashed until fully settled and trained to her new surrounds. We are asking a re-homing fee.

Ivermectin toxicity in herding dogs by George Looby, DVM At any given moment in time it would be most difficult to estimate how many herding dogs are roaming the fields, pastures and barnyards of this country. To watch them work puts many of us to shame as they respond to the hand signals and whistles of their Shepherds with a…
