I was shooting photos for and this lady called me out.
Maybe I'm sensitive because I thought I was capturing everything at this event.
I photographed:
- The speaker's panel
- Behind the scenes
- People networking
- Registration table
- Sponsor signage
- Food spreads
- Decor
But this lady called me out because she noticed something I DIDN'T take a picture of.
And she thought it was egregious omission.
Someone's shoes.
It was funny because I loved the guy's entire outfit.
But I didn't notice his shoes.
So no, I didn't get a photo of his footwear but I got everything else that the client cares about.
The client has marketing assets to show that they were a part of Toronto's biggest week for technology information sharing and networking.
But I appreciate her pointing it out to me.
Stop Hiding --> Start Connecting
15 years in the game.
And one sign stopped me cold. π
I was so ready for this event.
Gear loaded the night before.
Car packed to the roof.
Rolled into the venue feeling like I had everything under control.
Unloaded onto my cart.
Pushed through the front doors.
Made my way toward the elevatorβ
And then I saw it.
A sign that I was absolutely not expecting.
Three words.
That's all it took to flip my whole morning upside down.

Stop Hiding β Start Connecting
If you ever walked the halls of Albert Campbell Collegiate Institute β this one's for you. ππ¨
I was hired to photograph their 50th anniversary and what a day it was.
Hundreds of alumni came back for the old classrooms, the lockers, the jerseys, the yearbooks, the school band, and more hugs than a family Christmas.
And then somebody pulled the fire alarm.
A fully grown adult. At a 50th anniversary reunion. Pulled. The. Fire. Alarm. π
The fire department showed up, everyone filed outside, and the reunion carried right on β because apparently some things are just hardwired from high school.
It was chaotic, hilarious, and honestly? Perfect. Exactly why I love what I do.
Were you there? I've got the photos to prove it β all of it. Comment below or send me a message for access to the full gallery. You might find yourself in a very memorable moment. π
