Check this out. So interesting.
Sooo... I found another muscle while nerding-out on my anatomy app.
Shown here, the wee aryepiglottic muscle.
Its function - depresses the epiglottis, closing the laryngeal inlet.
One could speculate that if it’s dysfunctional, possibly from TrPs or nerve dysfunction, one would have swallowing/choking issues.
This muscle and its associated nerves are accessible using bodywork techniques, and therefore potentially treatable by a skilled practitioner.
🔺There is so often a link between chronic symptoms and muscle/nerve dysfunction. And muscle dysfunction can, and often does, have a trigger point source.
Want to learn more about muscle dysfunction? We offer online Trigger Point workshops.
