In the last week itself, there have been many articles on flexible work choices, options employees have, and the big shift in the thought process of the employers. Before, during and at this stage of the pandemic restrictions, the most critical issue seen is employee’s morale – whether they are meeting the needs of the business working from home, or excited to join office as usual or are stressed that there maybe a remote chance that they will pick up the covid infection on way to work or at work. WFH has been an elixir for many. Employers are finding it difficult to navigate the demand of a flexible work option. Amazon, Google, Microsoft and many more leaders in the industry realise that if employees do not get their “choice”, there maybe a wave of resignations. What do you think is the right choice?

When you are busy with work, weekends arrive quickly. It is another beautiful sunny Friday, and you have the May long weekend ahead to spend with your loved ones. Workaholics are advised a break. Give your eyes rest. These days I ask myself when all this is going to stop. These are desperate times when company of friends and loved ones is most welcome. There is a need to bring more smiles and happiness around you.

Another week gainfully spent. Looking forward to a sunny weekend and another spectacular Spring in our beautiful BC. Urge you to look after yourself and drain out all worries and stress. Enjoy the this lovely time and do not ponder whether worrying will help you in any way. It certainly will not.
I am fortunate to be actively associated with two non-profits. In this hour of unprecedented measures, both the operational teams are contributing to the community in their own way. While a large number of community members are working and supporting from the safe confines of their homes, these selfless workers are on the road, in the office, in the transition homes, with the seniors and infirm all the while being aware that maintaining safe distance and precaution will keep them safe. Like the health care workers and the emergency staff, these critical resources are there every day where they are needed.
I have not forgotten that recognizing all who are actively involved in supporting the community is the need of the hour. Burnout in these situations is certainly a risk. In these times we must look after their well-being in the best way possible. Have you done your part?
