During the last funding call for the we put in a concept letter to collect sargassum and turn it into sustainable products, but we didn’t get funded.

With our partners we still started a small pilot and have successfully collected 5,000 pounds of sargassum with our local team and launched two products for testing.

Just imagine if we had the support from the people who say they want to help community organizations instead we have we this natural resource turning to waste!

We are happy to announce we are back teaching this summer with our partners Black In Marine Science(BIMS) which is an empowering experience that opens doors to marine education right here in Placencia, Belize! 🇧🇿
We’re teaching 25 amazing kids to learn how to swim, a foundational skill that opens doors to marine education, environmental careers, and water safety.

We’re hoping to partner with a hotel who would love to sponsor rooms for 10 of the participants from Belize City during the program. Your support will give them a safe and comfortable place to stay while they gain confidence in the water. They also will get to explore the ocean and learn about marine science from global experts in the field. 🌍✨
