Fixing the scattered pieces 🤍

Fixing the scattered pieces,
I never thought I was broken,
Until I grew and realized the weight I bore.
I wish I could heal each scar from my childhood,
And I’m sorry if this poem breaks your heart,
But let’s explore the trauma of a young Black girl.
It’s not my personality; it’s not an advertisement,
But a diary of a 19-year-old reflecting on her path.

We made it, she screams,
Your voice has always been humble,
Yet often stumbled and undermined.
We made it, Leruo—
The tears you kept inside,
Needing to be shared in therapy.
I send a warm hug to all the girls
Who feel bottled up; one day,
You’ll find the strength to open up.

I always heard stories of your struggle too,
A child whose childhood was sacrificed
To build a legacy for family.
I’m sorry I’m sacrificing mine,
It’s hard being a woman and Black.
Let’s not take this as misinterpretation,
But inspiration to find and heal more.

One day I will return to heal,
But stay with me as I fulfill a young girl’s dream,
Starting a journey for orphaned, vulnerable women.
I am here for you, and you for me—
Through God and time, we shall heal.
Yes, my pieces were scattered,
But like a mirror, I may never be whole.
I will never fully heal,
Yet I will remain soft unto the Lord.
Life will continue,
Karma will take its course,
And God shall appoint leaders,
For I am sent by Him.

Brave women are great women

Brave women are great women
Through the sweats and pain ,scrolling down their faces without any fear
I refused to sleep as a child trying to convince my mom to help her ,the only thing she said on that was ‘’brave women are great women my dear

It's the way she struggled
The way she ends up with bruises just to put smile on my face & serving on the table
Bravery is her sweating down her misery & thriving relentlessly

I was too young to understand of how a woman is supposed to be consistent also insisting on the fact that pain exists and it should be endured by a woman
When I think of being a woman and also being black is a challenge itself fighting daily against colorism ,racism ,tribalism and oppression

Little did I know that it's not about how you break the sweat to survive
It's about how oppression overrules justice of equality
How the system bluntly suppresses womanhood
How all thriving attempts are viewed as rebellious
How the suffering of a woman is supposedly a norm with no recognition
As if it all doesn't fill up the plate
The colour of your skin gets to define who you are
Where you get to be
That's if it's not behind bars for being a shade darker

Our powerful women who fought for our freedom ,Queen ndziga ,winne Mandela still represent us as they were brave enough to keep their heads high protecting and influencing a mob of people to be where we are today
They took their feminist aside and allowed their masculinity to show
My rhymes express my might and I recite to express my light
The confidence awakened within me is with the quote
Brave women are great women

It's infuriating how Winnie Mandela had to bleed on the floor & paint the cell walls with quotes of justice & equality
How Queen Ndziga was viewed as rebellious in seek of a fair trade & ruling to the people of the West African Coast
The hatred endured by the feminine structures with plans of progress in plain sight
Forget the mob influence & acknowledge the sense made , truth & insightful facts that were unveiled
Defying the odds to the known
How I get pityful glances in dark corners as i try to define myself with ink & paper
How I get to resurrect dead bones
The fear of difference & change clouding the sky
Funny how it falls back to my mother's words
"A woman's bravery is her strength"
Indeed Brave women are great women
