We were honoured to serve as adjudicators at the Stepping Stones International Debates, proudly powered by Motswedi Game. It was inspiring to witness young minds engage in thoughtful, well reasoned, and impactful debates that showcased the future of African oratory.

Congratulations to Phatsima Learning Institute for emerging as the champions of this year's competition! Your dedication, preparation, and excellence were truly commendable.

Yesterday, Teemane Oratory Academy successfully hosted a debate training session at Kwena Sereto Junior Secondary School, bringing together 128 students from schools across Molepolole, including: Kwena Sereto Junior Secondary School, Kgari Sechele Senior Secondary School, Dithejwane Junior Secondary School, Mputhe Junior Secondary School, Tshegetsang Junior Secondary School and Motswasele Junior Secondary School

The training formed part of our preparations for the Africa Continental Oratory Championship (ACOC) 2026, equipping students with the critical thinking, public speaking, and debating skills needed to compete at the highest level.

From 7–10 August 2026, we will be welcoming over 450 participants from more than 14 African countries for what promises to be one of the continent's premier platforms for intellectual exchange and youth leadership.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the leadership of Kwena Sereto Junior Secondary School, the participating schools, teachers, coaches, and every student whose enthusiasm made the training a success.

The road to ACOC 2026 has begun, and Botswana is getting ready.

At the invitation of the Kodibeleng Mascom Kitsong Centre staff, Teemane Oratory Academy had the honour of joining the team at Kodibeleng Primary School during a meaningful community initiative aimed at supporting teaching and learning.

The Mascom team donated books, printing paper, toners and stationery to the school, reaffirming the importance of community driven support in strengthening education. As Teemane Oratory Academy, we were proud to contribute to the initiative by offering learners training in public speaking and soft skills. The session focused on building confidence, communication, self-expression and leadership among the learners.

We were also inspired to learn that Kodibeleng Primary School is the best-performing school in the Shoshong Sub Region. In recognition of this outstanding achievement, Teemane Oratory Academy has forged a relationship with the school that will see us return in collaboration with our sister organization, Teemane Innovation Hub to offer STEAM Education, robotics and coding training. We will also be hosting an exam preparedness bootcamp through Edu Thrive for the completing classes as they prepare for their final examinations.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Mascom for creating initiatives that allow staff to actively contribute to the communities they serve. We are grateful to have played a role in the 3 for 3 Initiative in Kodibeleng Village.

At Teemane Oratory Academy, we remain committed to developing confident, skilled and future ready learners across Botswana.

Teemane Oratory Academy is proud to announce that it will be hosting the African Continental Oratory Championship, one of the largest student oratory gatherings in Africa.

This prestigious championship will bring together over 350 students from across Africa to compete in a wide range of intellectual and communication disciplines, including Debating, Public Speaking, Spelling Bee, Model United Nations (Model UN) and Quiz Competitions. The Championship is open to students in Primary Schools, Junior Schools and Senior Schools across Africa.

The championship will be held from 7th to 10th August 2026 at the University of Botswana, serving as a regional hub where young minds meet, engage, and compete at the highest level.

This initiative by Teemane Oratory Academy is designed to grow and strengthen the Oratory Arts in Botswana and across the African region, while fostering critical thinking, confidence, leadership, and cross cultural exchange among learners from primary, junior, and senior schools.

We had the honor of being at the Botswana International University of Science & Technology - BIUST in Palapye to award adjudicators who facilitated the WSDC Botswana National Debate Team Northern selection Trials.

We extend our sincere appreciation to all the adjudicators for their commitment to nurturing debate, critical thinking, and public speaking excellence among young people in Botswana. Your contribution continues to shape the future of oratory and intellectual engagement in our country.

The visit also included a productive meeting with the Interim Executive Committee that will oversee the newly formed BUIST Debate Club. We are excited to welcome the club as an implementation partner and affiliate of Teemane Oratory Academy as we continue expanding opportunities for debate and leadership development across Botswana.

Teemane Oratory Academy, as the national organization officially mandated by the World Schools Debating Championships Board to organize and formulate the Botswana National Debate Team, had the honor of being hosted by Gabz-FM to discuss Botswana’s preparations for participation at the 2026 World Schools Debating Championship (WSDC).

The prestigious championship will be held in Nairobi, Kenya 🇰🇪 from the 14th to the 24th July 2026, bringing together the world’s finest young debaters to compete on the global stage.

The interview was attended by the Botswana National Team Captain, Losika Mbaakanyi, and the National Team Manager, Mr. Tshiamo Brian Badubi, who also serves as the Founder of Teemane Oratory Academy.

The discussion focused on the team’s preparation journey, the importance of debate in shaping young leaders, and Botswana’s commitment to excellence in international academic platforms.
