FORMER PRESIDENT FESTUS MOGAE PASSES ON
News coming in is that former President of the Republic of Botswana, Festus O. Mogae, has sadly passed away after a long illness.
Mogae served as president of Botswana from 1998 to 2008.

BOTSWANA, RWANDA STRENGTHEN BILATERAL RELATIONS
>> President Adv Boko hosts State Banquet in honour of His Excellency Paul Kagame President of the Republic of Rwanda
President Advocate Duma Gideon Boko, President of the Republic of Botswana, this evening hosted a State Banquet in honour of His Excellency Paul Kagame President of the Republic of Rwanda.
The State Banquet followed a day of fruitful engagement including a tête-à-tête meeting and bilateral talks between the two Heads of State and the signing of six(6) bilateral agreements and Memorandums of Understanding.
In his toast, President Boko celebrated the enduring friendship between Botswana and Rwanda rooted in mutual respect, Pan-African solidarity and a shared commitment to transformation, innovation, and good governance. He praised President Kagame’s leadership and Rwanda’s remarkable journey of renewal.
President Kagame expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality extended to him and his delegation, noting that Botswana and Rwanda stand as examples of African nations charting their own course with discipline, vision and dignity.
The State Banquet underscored the deepening ties between the two nations and their joint resolve to advance people-to-people connections for the prosperity of their citizens and the continent.
