INVEST IN INDIRECT BILLING -DON'T CHASE BPOMAS CLIENTS

Indirect billing is a billing method in which the patient pays the full medical bill upfront. The medical biller then assists the patient in submitting a claim to the insurance provider, after which the insurance company reimburses the patient.

Benefits:

Medical bills are paid in full (100%)

No back-and-forth with insurance companies, ensuring faster and timely payments

WHAT SHOULD YOU CONSIDER WHEN YOU CHOOSE YOUR MEDICAL INSURANCE COVERAGE.

1. Coverage and Benefits-Ensure you are being covered for essential services such hospitalization and preventative care.

Specialized Services: Consider your coverage needs, such as chronic conditions.

2. Costs Incurred- consider cost such as premiums, deductibles, co-pay and Out-of-pocket cost. This helps you to calculate the ratio of coverage and in cared cost.
3. Provider Network-Verify whether your preferred doctors are part of the network and the network size. Understand cost coverage when you consult doctors who does not make part of the network ecosystem.

4. Prescription Drugs-Check the plan’s list of covered medications. Understand the cost sharing methods.

5. Flexibility and Convenience- Referrals and Authorizations: Know if you need referrals for specialists or prior authorizations for treatments.

6. Telehealth Services: Availability and coverage of virtual consultations.

7. Additional Benefits-such as Wellness Programs, Dental and Vision Coverage and Global Coverage

8. Health Status: If you have chronic conditions, ensure comprehensive coverage for your treatments.

12. Legal and Regulatory Compliance
Regulations: Ensure the plan complies with national and local health insurance regulations.

PREFERRED PROVIDER ORGANIZATION (PPO)

Is a type of health insurance plan that offers more flexibility when it comes to choosing healthcare providers and services.

1. Network of Providers
Clients have access to both In-Network and Out-Of-Network Care. They choose where they want to get access.

2. Primary Care Physician (P*P)

Unlike Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs), PPOs do not require you to select a P*P. You can visit specialist without consulting your Primary physician.

3. Costs

Premiums: PPO plans typically have higher monthly premiums compared to HMO plans due to the increased flexibility and broader access to providers.

Deductibles: PPOs often have higher deductibles, which is the amount you must pay out-of-pocket before your insurance begins to pay for covered services.

Copayments and Coinsurance: After meeting your deductible, you may pay a copayment (a fixed amount) or coinsurance (a percentage of the cost) for services.

Out-of-Pocket Maximum: There’s a limit to how much you’ll pay out-of-pocket in a year, after which the insurance company pays 100% of covered services.
