THE LAST HIKE OF 2025 THAT NEVER HAPPENED....πŸ˜…πŸ€¦

With weeks of planning and gathering the courage to conquer the Goo Moremi Gorges once again, nature proved to be in control and stopped us in our tracks on what was supposed to be a memorable year end hike!πŸ˜…

The Lotsane River started heavily flooding on Christmas Eve, shutting down our hopes of being one with the Tswapong Hills. This was due the Serowe catchment area experiencing heavy rainfall leading to flooding of Lotsane and its Dibokwe and Dikabeya tributaries. It's a pity the Goo Moremi village always gets flooded even when it experiences normal or no rainfall 🀦

The hike may have been cancelled by the flood but we continued camping at Marat'yane Heritage Village for three more days, enjoying our stay here, mingling with the locals and letting the spontaneity take over our monotonous lives 🧘🏾

We'll be here again with the BIUST Hiking Club in March/April camping and hiking their Annual "15 KM San Francisco" and " 25 KM Map of Africa" Trails πŸ’ͺ🏾
