Short Note on Bhutanese Foresters and Their Role in Keeping the Country Carbon Negative

Bhutan is globally recognized as the only carbon-negative country in the world, a status it proudly maintains by preserving its reach natural environment. This is made possible by its constitutional requirement to maintain a minimum of 60% forest cover at all times. The responsibility of upholding this goal largely falls on the sholders of the countrys dedicated foresters.
Bhutanese foresters are the guardians of this policy. They work tirelessly to protect the forests from illegal logging, forest fires, and wildlife threats. Often posted in remote and challenging environments, they endure physical hardships, isolation, and limited resources. Despite these difficulties, their commitment ensures that Bhutan’s forests continue to act as a major carbon sink, playing a vital role in the fight against climate change. Their sacrifices are essential to the nation's environmental leadership and sustainability.
