“𝗕𝗮𝗲 𝗿𝗮 𝗺𝗮 𝘁𝘀𝗵𝘂 𝗺𝗮𝗲 𝗚𝗦𝗧 𝗴𝗶”– 𝙰 𝙿𝚞𝚋𝚕𝚒𝚌 𝙲𝚛𝚢

GST as a taxation system is not bad. In fact, a well-designed GST helps the country grow, improves government revenue, and supports national development. But what is killing the people today is not GST itself — it is the failure to control prices and monitor tax collection.

Because of weak monitoring, GST has turned into an excuse for many shopkeepers to raise prices on every single item.
Without proper checking, some shops add GST arbitrarily, some overcharge, and some even take GST but do not deposit it properly. The consumer suffers while the system loses its credibility.

Today everywhere you go — in shops, markets, villages, and towns — people are saying the same thing:

“Bae ra ma tshu mae GST gi.”
At every corner, in every conversation —
“Bae ra ma tshu GST gi.”

Not because people hate taxation,
but because they are being squeezed unfairly.

Rice, oil, vegetables, school supplies, building materials — everything has become more expensive. Salaries have not increased, but prices keep rising. People are paying GST, but they do not see fairness, transparency, or protection.

If GST is to work, then:

• Prices must be clearly displayed
• GST must be shown separately on bills
• Shopkeepers must be strictly monitored
• Overcharging must be punished

Without these, GST becomes a burden, not a benefit.

GST should build the nation — not break the people.

Until price control and enforcement become serious, the public will continue to say:

“𝗕𝗮𝗲 𝗿𝗮 𝗺𝗮 𝘁𝘀𝗵𝘂 𝗺𝗮𝗲 𝗚𝗦𝗧 𝗴𝗶”.
