Malaria and Dengue Prevention Campaign Conducted in Samtse Town
Today, the Vector-borne Disease Control Programme (VDCP), Gelephu, in collaboration with Samtse Dzongkhag, successfully conducted a Malaria and Dengue Prevention Campaign in Samtse Town.
More than 60 dedicated volunteers from the Royal Bhutan Police, DeSuung, and ARURA final-year students actively took part in the campaign. The initiative focused on creating awareness on malaria and dengue prevention while encouraging active community participation in maintaining a clean and safe environment.
The volunteers were divided into groups and carried out door-to-door awareness campaigns to educate residents on the importance of eliminating mosquito breeding sites in and around their homes. Collection of mosquito larvae and larviciding activities were also conducted in identified breeding areas.
Samtse Dzongkhag extends its heartfelt appreciation to the VDCP for spearheading this important initiative and to all the volunteers for their active participation, dedication, and commitment towards safeguarding public health and promoting a healthier community.
