No. I AM saying that if you have any issues - thinning/hair loss, scalp conditions, dry/brittle strands, breakage or chemical/mechanical damage - braids WILL make those issues worse. There’s nothing “protective” about wrapping your hair in synthetic fibers…it’s just a cute style choice! Leaving them in too long or installing too often will eventually result in damage. Weekly cleansing + deep conditioning, setting + drying your hair on washday, not rewetting it everyday, getting trims every 8-10 weeks 💇🏽‍♀️ (varies per person) and keeping your internal health in-check is what will TRULY PROTECT your hair and allow you to retain length + curls with more definition and less frizz. 🙌🏾 P.S.
