At Red House, developing Student Agency means empowering students to take responsibility for their own learning (Ownership), to use their voices to create positive impact (Voice), and to make informed and thoughtful decisions (Choice).

That is why the Red House Houses Project plays such an important role in this journey!

Through meaningful challenges, collaborative activities, and engaging projects, students and families experience the 10 International Learner Profile attributes in action, developing leadership, empathy, teamwork, and global citizenship.

In this video, you can see our Red House Elementary School students learning about and exploring the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

What may seem like a simple competition or House challenge is, in fact, a powerful opportunity for student agency, belonging, and character development. Through this collaborative activity, students engaged in meaningful research, shared their knowledge with one another, and deepened their understanding of the UN Global Goals.

At Red House, our students learn together. They actively participate in purposeful experiences designed to build strong values and principles. In each move, students develop very important skills, such as critical thinking, patience, and the ability to make thoughtful decisions.

At Red House, extracurricular activities, like chess, expand learning beyond the classroom, encouraging students to challenge themselves and grow with purpose.

O xadrez vai além de um jogo, é uma atividade que desenvolve habilidades como estratégia, foco e confiança se encontram.

A cada movimento, os alunos desenvolvem pensamento crítico, paciência e a capacidade de tomar decisões com intenção.

Na Red House, atividades extracurriculares como o xadrez ampliam o aprendizado para além da sala de aula, incentivando os alunos a se desafiarem e a crescerem com propósito.

When students understand the power of acting together, learning goes far beyond the classroom.

Through our House System initiative, Red House students came together with their families and community to support the homeless people and families in need. Our school chose to help two very committed institutions who dedicate their efforts towards these communities in need. The institutions are Casa do Pão and Paróquia Nossa Senhora das Graças. So, the social contribution for this task was donating food to families in vulnerable situations.

More than a solidarity action, this experience showed our students that they are capable of being agents of change and that even small actions can create meaningful impact when made with empathy, unity, and purpose.

We are deeply grateful to all families and students who made this initiative possible and helped transform care into action.

Quando os alunos compreendem a força de agir em conjunto, o aprendizado vai muito além da sala de aula.

Através de uma iniciativa do nosso House System, os alunos da Red House se uniram às famílias e à comunidade para uma linda ação em prol das pessoas em situação de rua cuidadas pela Casa do Pão e também para famílias mais necessitadas assistidas pela Paróquia Nossa Senhora das Graças.

Nessa tarefa, nossos alunos e seus familiares conseguiram arrecadar doações de alimentos não perecíveis e latas de sardinhas para famílias em situação de vulnerabilidade.

Mais do que uma ação solidária, essa experiência mostrou aos nossos estudantes que eles são capazes de serem agentes de mudança e que pequenas atitudes podem gerar grandes impactos quando realizadas com empatia, união e propósito.

Nosso agradecimento especial a todas as famílias e alunos que tornaram essa iniciativa possível e ajudaram a transformar cuidado em ação.

Among questions and expectations, our Year 10 students connected with peers who are about to graduate from the Diploma Programme, our High School international program, in order to gain insight and guidance.

Through these conversations, the youngest ones realized that strong organization and the ability to adapt to the pace of their studies can make a meaningful difference during this demanding phase of their academic journeys.

Our Year 5 students took on this challenge and are excited to share their learnings with our entire community!

During their Exhibition lessons, they explored two of the United Nations Global Goals and created very special videos to explain, in their own words, what they discovered throughout this journey.

Through science, our Primary and Middle Years students cultivate curiosity and experience the world around them. Scientific knowledge, across biological, chemical, and physical aspects, helps them understand their responsibility to themselves, others, and the planet, and the impact on the quality of life across different ecosystems.

Na disciplina de ciências, as nossas turmas do Ensino Fundamental Anos Iniciais e Finais aguçam a curiosidade e experienciam o mundo ao redor. O conhecimento científico, dentro dos aspectos biológicos, químicos e físicos, ajuda o nosso aluno a entender a responsabilidade que possui sobre si próprio, os outros e o planeta, e o impacto na qualidade de vida de diferentes ecossistemas.

At Red House, the relationship between family and school is an essential part of the learning journey.

During our Family Lunch, families had the opportunity to experience the school environment more closely, sharing meaningful moments with their children while connecting with the team and daily school life.

More than a special gathering, the experience reinforces the importance of partnership in education, creating stronger connections between students, families, and educators. Through these shared moments, students feel supported in developing confidence, autonomy, and a sense of belonging within the learning community.

Na Red House, a relação entre família e escola é parte essencial da jornada de aprendizagem.

Durante o Family Lunch, as famílias tiveram a oportunidade de vivenciar o ambiente escolar de forma mais próxima, compartilhando momentos significativos com seus filhos enquanto conheciam melhor a equipe e a rotina da escola.

Mais do que um encontro especial, a experiência reforça a importância da parceria no processo educativo, fortalecendo as conexões entre alunos, famílias e educadores. É por meio dessas vivências compartilhadas que os estudantes se sentem apoiados no desenvolvimento da confiança, da autonomia e do senso de pertencimento à comunidade de aprendizagem.

Through reflection, empathy, and meaningful dialogue, our Year 5 students explored the role of women in society and the impact of their strength, leadership, and care in everyday life.

As part of this experience, students shared heartfelt messages about the women who inspire them the most: their own mothers.

Through their words, they recognized values such as resilience, dedication, kindness, and courage, connecting personal experiences to broader understandings about respect, appreciation, and human connection.

At Red House, learning also happens when students are encouraged to observe the world with sensitivity, express their thoughts with confidence, and recognize the people who positively shape their lives.
