"The Doctrines of Men
Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, (Touch not; taste not; handle not; Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?" (KJV+ Colossians 2:20-22)

Legally,the believer died to the elements of this world as the word tells us.The term "Rediments of the world" in the above text explains the reason the world has its system that works through beliefs, customs,theories,and traditions.
They are literally called "The traditions of men", and such rules they have engaged people's lives bringing them into bo***ge.
The world have such elementary traditions like don't eat certain animals,don't touch certain things, they are forbidden by tradition.The bible said you died to these theories and traditions of men when you died with Christ.
In the ministry of Jesus ,He rebuked the Jews who made the word of God of none effect in their lives through traditions and worldly customs (Mark 7;13).
A lot of times we don't realize our place in Christ when we give in to the base elements of this world,its not an act of righteousness for a believer to observe worldly customs and traditions.You belong in Christ,live unto Him.

Ps 34:8: "O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him."(KJV)

The Psalmist speaks out of experience,he wants everyone to listen to his testimony of God and trust Him.

When he says"Blessed is the man that trusted in Him", he uses the word "Geber" for man.Geber does not just mean an ordinary man,but a strong man.Whether Politically or educationally strong is implied by the Hebrew word "Geber" one cannot tell.But anyone who refuses to depend on his political ability,his educational ability,and trust God is Blessed according to our login scripture.
The word rendered "Trust" in our login scripture means,to flee for refuge.God responds to anyone who abandons all his educational skills to depend on His wisdom,He heaps blessings on him for such act.This is what is meant by tasting the goodness of God,and actually, God never disappoints those who trust Him.

2Chr 20:20: "Early the next morning the army of Judah went out into the wilderness of Tekoa. On the way Jehoshaphat stopped and said, “Listen to me, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem! Believe in the LORD your God, and you will be able to stand firm. Believe in his prophets, and you will succeed.”"(NLT)

The understanding of this verse will turn things around in the life of any believer.That expression," Believe in his Prophets and you will succeed " is the reason many are not successful today.The word "Prophets" in this regard as it concerns the church refers to the ministers God has given to us.Are you under a Pastor,or Apostle,or Prophet,or Teacher,or Evangelist;you have to believe in their ministry over your life.God sent that Pastor to guide you and raise you in your destiny in the word.
If you believe in the minister God sent to bring you His word,you'll operate the scripture.For instance the bible says for us to give all our first fruits to the priest so that he'll command the blessing to rest on our homes (Ezek 44:30).That man or woman of God who guides you through the ministry of the word is a priest,give him or her your offerings,tithes and firstfruits,he or she holds the ability to command the blessings of the word into your home .Its scripture,command your change now.

DON'T BECOME A LEAKING VESSEL

Heb 2:1: "Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip." (KJV)

The Greek rendering of the expression "Let them slip" says "Run out as leaking vessels".Here's the mind and thought of God, He wants us to give attention to the truths of the Gospel communicated unto us through doctrine, rather than asking for more when we have not used the ones we have now.Someone might be whining "My Pastor has been preaching on repentance,when will he preach on prosperity?" Well, maybe God wants you to change your attitude about something relating to life before you can prosper,sure its the truth!

You've got to practice what you have heard so that you'll not run out some truths like leaking vessel.That's exactly who you'll become if you keep asking for more revelations from the word when you have not practiced the ones you already have.
You don't grow by hearing new words,growth comes when you become a doer of the word.
