The final day of the IWA 17th SWWS Conference and 9th ROS Conference was filled with remarkable moments, reinforcing the commitment to innovation and sustainability in the water and sanitation sector. In the morning, the oral sessions featured technical presentations highlighting research and practical solutions to sector challenges, followed by an inspiring keynote presentation by Günter Langergraber, senior scientist at the Institute of Sanitary Engineering and Water Pollution Control at BOKU University, Vienna. He discussed the DWA Guide - a unique data source for services and products in the water and wastewater management sectors.
The roundtables delved into essential topics, such as financing mechanisms for smart sanitation, young leadership in service universalization, and the connection between sanitation and One Health, fostering enriching debates led by renowned experts and leaders.
In the afternoon, discussions continued with more oral sessions and a presentation by Florent Chazarenc, an environmental engineering specialist from the French National Institute for Agricultural, Food, and Environmental Research (INRAE). He provided critical reflections on global environmental challenges and innovative solutions to mitigate the climate crisis. The event concluded with a special moment of reflection and gratitude, highlighting the learnings and achievements of the previous days and inviting everyone to continue advancing together on the path to transforming sanitation.

The penultimate day of the IWA 17th SWWS Conference and 9th ROS Conference was filled with inspiring sessions and collaborations. Oral Sessions (XIX to XXVII) discussed technologies and strategies for water management. Following this, Keynote Presentation C with Syed Salahuddin Ahmed and Mariana Quaresma highlighted the opportunities and challenges in water supply and management.
In the roundtables, experts explored the path to achieving SDG6, innovation in sludge management, and digitalization in the water sector. In the afternoon, Keynote Presentation D featured Christoph Platzer presenting sustainable wastewater treatment solutions for small municipalities, while the Poster Session continued with presentations on sanitation and water resources research.
The day concluded with a special Gala Dinner, celebrating knowledge exchange and the connections built.

On the third day of the IWA 17th SWWS Conference and 9th ROS Conference, participants explored topics of high relevance for the future of sanitation.
During the oral and poster sessions, experts and researchers presented the latest practices in water reuse, effluent management, and innovative technologies. Additionally, the “Water in Action: Youth in Motion!” Workshop brought together young leaders to discuss and exchange ideas on how the new generation can make a difference in sustainable water resource management.
Other highlights included the Latin America Regional Workshop of the 300 Water Leaders Group, where leaders from across the region shared experiences and developed collaborative strategies to tackle sector challenges.
Throughout the day, technical visits allowed participants to experience Curitiba's most innovative sanitation projects up close, including the Belém WWTP, Wetland Areas, and the Sanepar Operational Control Center, where solutions integrating environmental conservation and technological efficiency were showcased.

The second day of the 17th IWA SWWS and 9th ROS Conferences sparked essential discussions on universal access and innovation in sanitation. Keynote speaker Carlos Chernicharo highlighted universal water and sanitation services as essential for public health and environmental protection, while Kartik Chandran from Columbia University emphasized a systemic approach to wastewater reuse, benefiting sectors like agriculture and energy.
