Hidden treasures of the Milky Way above Sajama.
For the first time, using a star tracker allowed me to reveal this region of the sky with a level of precision I had never achieved before. What looks like a single patch of the Milky Way is actually filled with deep-sky wonders.
In this frame you can find the glowing Lagoon Nebula, the delicate Trifid Nebula, the Messier 23 star cluster, the Small Sagittarius Star Cloud (M24), and the dark void of Barnard 92, sometimes called the Black Hole Nebula.
All of them drifting silently above the snowy slopes of Sajama, beneath one of the darkest skies on Earth.
Moments like this remind me that the Milky Way is not just a band of light — it’s a vast landscape waiting to be explored. And the best part: this experience will be possible again next May during the Astroruta del Altiplano.

ILLIMANI Y VÍA LÁCTEA
Una noche de mayo, temporada en que la Via Láctea se revela ante nuestros lentes detrás del Illimani. Para conseguir esta toma hice un stack de 15 fotos, mas 4 dark frames. Por STACK se entiende apilar las 15 fotos consecutivas en un programa especial con el objeto de reducir el ruido de la foto y obtener mejores resultados que trabajando sobre una solo foto.
