Rhythm runs deep in Benin, not just in music, but in the way people move, gather, and celebrate life.

For an new series for Vice and the European Union called I’ll Rise, we followed Afro House DJ AMÉMÉ on a journey back to his roots exploring how the energy of the streets, the sounds of the coast, and the spirit of community continue to shape his global path.

Shot across Cotonou, Porto Novo, Ouidah and beyond, this episode celebrates identity, movement and the power of homegrown talent.

I extremely enjoyed bringing life to the frame and telling this story. Sharing the true essence of the nation of Benin. 🇧🇯

Now showing on vice.com, and as a TVC.
