98 YEARS / JAAR LAST POST ASSOCIATION - 02/07/2026

Op donderdag 2 juli 2026 vierden we de 98e verjaardag van de allereerste Last Post onder de Menenpoort in Ieper op maandag 2 juli 1928. We zullen hen blijven herdenken.

On Thursday 2 July 2026 we celebrated the 98th anniversary of the very first Last Post under the Menin Gate in Ypres on Monday 2 July 1928. We will continue to remember them.

It is with great sadness that the Last Post Association announces that Mrs Valmai Holt MBE (° 23/12/1935), the late wife of Major Tonie Holt passed away. Together with her husband Tonie, she was a long standing friend of the Last Post Association and the City of Ieper. She has always been a true Ambassador of our values and mission. Our thoughts now go to her family. May you rest in peace Valmai.

Het is met grote droefheid dat de Last Post Association het overlijden meldt van mevrouw Valmai Holt MBE (° 23/12/1935). Samen met haar man Tonnie, was zij al heel lang een trouwe vriend van de Last Post Association en de Stad Ieper. Zij was een groot Ambassadeur van onze waarden en missie. Onze gedachten gaan nu naar haar familie. Moge je in vrede rusten Valmai.
